We have primary offices in Accrington, Kendal and Bedale. We cover Historical Lancashire, Cumbria, North Yorkshire, and the Dales.

Meet the team
Michael Holden

Michael is the MD. A Chartered Surveyor with over 30 years of PQE.
Specialising in valuation and residential surveying, he authored the RICS Residential Building Surveys Practice Note and contributed to RICS Surveys’ product development.
Michael served on the RICS Global Governing Council from 2017 to 2019. He’s also a mentor, chair, and APC assessor, deeply involved in CPD education, conservation, and project and financial management.
In higher education, Michael’s passion for teaching building surveying and real estate spans nearly 15 years in the UK and Europe. He’s a driving force in promoting enterprise and employability, along with supporting Erasmus + Charter.
As the current President of NAEA Property mark, Michael continues to lead and inspire. When not immersed in the professional world, he finds joy riding his motorcycles in the Dales or strumming tunes on his guitar.
William Holden

Bill is a Chartered Surveyor, whose expertise spans across residential surveying, valuation, and property management. His dedication and outstanding skills were recently recognised when he was nominated for the Surveyor of the Year 2023 – a testament to his exceptional contributions to the field.
Bill is now expanding his horizons into commercial building surveying. He’s currently pursuing an advanced diploma in structural engineering, seeking to enhance his proficiency in this dynamic area of expertise.
Bill is not only committed to his own growth but also to nurturing the next generation of surveyors. He serves as an APC mentor, counsellor, and assessor, guiding and supporting aspiring professionals on their journey to becoming Chartered Surveyors.
Beyond surveying, he’s also a dedicated member of the Army Reserves, serving as an Engineer. During his spare time, Bill actively engages with his unit, undergoing training to uphold his commitment to duty and service.
Joe Holden

Joe is a dedicated Associate Surveyor who is currently on a path to become chartered. With a decade of experience in residential and valuation work, Joe has honed his skills and expertise, making him a valuable asset to the practice.
Joe’s focus on high-end residential surveying work showcases his keen eye for detail and commitment to delivering excellence to discerning clients. But his expertise doesn’t end there. Joe is equally adept in commercial building surveying, excelling in a variety of roles, including contract administration, project management, and providing maintenance and condition reports.
Beyond the office, Joe finds solace and companionship with his loyal four-legged friend, Boss.
Eddy Holden

Edd is an Associate Surveyor with a specialization in valuation and residential work. With precision and expertise, Edd conducts a variety of valuations and is well-versed in preparing basic condition and level 2 reports.
Edd is actively pursuing his APC along the Valuation Pathway. His determination to achieve chartership within the next year reflects his commitment to advancing in the field and providing clients with the highest level of service.
In his spare time, he finds fulfilment in coaching his son’s football team.
Luke Haslam

Luke’s expertise lies in Valuation and investment, making him a sought-after consultant for property investors, developers, and high-net-worth individuals all across the UK. With a sharp eye for potential, he guides clients through property acquisition, asset management, and financial matters with finesse.
Luke is deeply engaged in block and property management, providing invaluable advice on effectively handling property, businesses, and estates. His strategic insights ensure seamless operations and optimal returns for his clients.
When he’s not surveying you’ll likely find him teeing off on the golf course, honing his skills and finding relaxation amidst the greens. And as a dedicated father, he takes pride in supporting and cheering on his son’s cricket endeavours.
Dan Noblett

Dan is an Associate Surveyor with a profound specialization in conservation and heritage. Armed with a master’s degree in building conservation and adaptation.
With a deep respect for heritage, Dan undertakes a wide range of heritage-based tasks, including preparing comprehensive reports, impact statements, and navigating the intricacies of planning and recording.
Dan also excels in residential surveying work, bringing the same level of dedication and attention to detail to damp and timber and defect surveys. His comprehensive assessments provide invaluable insights for homeowners and buyers alike.
Outside the realm of surveying, Dan finds solace and adventure amidst the scenic cliffs of Malham, where he indulges in his passion for climbing. With his ever-faithful Golden Retriever, Frank, by his side.
Martin Kerry

Martin is a Chartered Surveyor with an impressive 30-year PQE. Throughout his distinguished career, Martin has been a steadfast presence in Lancashire, becoming a well-respected specialist in valuation and residential surveying.
With an astounding 40,000 inspections under his belt, Martin’s experience is unparalleled. His wealth of knowledge and expertise empower him to provide clients with invaluable advice on matters of purchase, investment, and litigation, instilling confidence in every transaction.
Beyond traditional valuations, Martin takes on a diverse range of assignments, including secured lending valuations, HMO valuations, and expert witness valuation reports. His meticulous approach and insightful reports have made him an expert in this field.
Martin finds solace and vigor in his leisure pursuits. An avid triathlete, he enthusiastically participates in Ironman competitions.
Aiden Hartley

Aiden is an ambitious Graduate Surveyor, eagerly working towards his APC down the building surveying pathway. Armed with a passion for both residential and commercial building surveying, Aiden is determined to make his mark in the industry.
As a Domestic Energy Assessor, Aiden plays a crucial role in providing domestic Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs), ensuring properties meet energy efficiency standards. Aiden is actively pursuing his commercial license and PAS 2035 qualifications to expand his expertise and offer comprehensive solutions to clients.
In his spare time Aiden likes to watch Formula one and support Manchester United.
Samantha Gibson

Sammi, is a diligent part-time Graduate Surveyor, currently pursuing a master’s degree while juggling her professional commitments. With a strong ambition to become a GP Surveyor.
Determined to expand her knowledge and skill set, Sammi is currently undertaking her ARLA qualifications – an important step in her journey to becoming a well-rounded professional in the real estate industry.
Sammi’s has set her sights on achieving her APC down the commercial pathway. This demonstrates her dedication to meeting the highest standards and becoming a qualified and respected Chartered Surveyor in the commercial domain.
When not immersed in her studies or work, Sammi finds balance and vitality in the world of CrossFit.
Kate Dudley

Kate is a dedicated Business Administrator Apprentice, who is on a determined journey to success. As she works through her degree apprenticeship with the practice, Kate is honing her skills and knowledge to become a Chartered Manager, with aspirations to lead as the future Practice Manager.
In her multifaceted role, Kate takes on a diverse array of responsibilities, seamlessly handling a wide range of business administration and property-related tasks. Her adaptability and eagerness to learn contribute to the efficient functioning of the practice.
Beyond her professional pursuits, Kate finds a healthy balance in her personal life. Embracing an active lifestyle, she frequents the gym, dedicating herself to physical well-being.
Lise Holden
Lise is a Director and a Practice Manager of the firm, deftly overseeing all aspects of the practice’s operations. With a keen eye for detail, Lise efficiently manages the general day-to-day office tasks, ensuring a smooth and productive workflow.
But her responsibilities don’t stop there. Lise also plays a pivotal role in property management, where her expertise shines as she liaises with tenants and carries out property management duties.
An avid reader, she immerses herself in the world of literature and finds solace in the theatre.
Kathryn Molly
Kathryn is Associate Surveyor, whose expertise lies in economic growth and regeneration, place making, program and project development, and effective leadership. With a diverse skill set, Kathryn has successfully delivered both commercial and residential projects, as well as conducted general surveying and valuation works.
Committed to furthering her professional journey, Kathryn is currently pursuing the senior professional route to achieve Chartered status, a testament to her dedication to excellence and continued growth in the industry.
Beyond her impressive career, Kathryn finds joy in exploring the world alongside her daughter.
Peter Wilkinson
Peter is an esteemed Chartered Surveyor with an impressive 40-year PQE. With a focus on valuation, Peter has been a prominent figure in Greater Manchester and the Northwest throughout his illustrious career.
Drawing on his vast expertise, Peter handles a diverse array of valuations and rating works. Whether it’s acquisitions, Compulsory Purchase Orders (CPO), landlord and tenant matters, or title-related affairs, he navigates each with precision and proficiency.
Peter also takes on Level 2 residential survey work. Peter enjoys cycling and spending time his family.
Harvey

Harvey is a 11-year-old Staffordshire Bull Terrier, who holds the prestigious title of being the top dog at our practice. Possessing a full pedigree, Harvey has been a cherished member of our team since the start of Michael Holden Chartered Surveyors.
Harvey is a pure breed Staffordshire Bull Terrier. Despite his growing age, Harvey remains a fun and loving dog. His gentle and loving nature has earned him a special place in the hearts of both staff and clients alike. In his spare time, Harvey enjoys chewing sticks and sleeping.
Boss

Boss is a 2-year-old mixed breed Staffordshire Bull Terrier and Classic Bully. He is a cherished member of our office canine cohort. Boss’s journey to joining our team is a testament to the power of compassion and rescue, as he was lovingly adopted by Joe from Wales when he was just 6 months old.
Despite his challenging early life, Boss has blossomed into an invaluable asset to our office. In his spare time, Boss enjoys playing fetch and swimming.
